Pembury Village Market

Did you know that Pembury has a market and coffee shop in the village hall every Tuesday morning from 9.30 – 11.30? Here you will find a wide range of stalls, some of them supporting local charities. Much of the fruit and vegetables sold here are sourced from nearby smallholdings so they are nice and fresh and quite often organic. There is a good selection of essential groceries and free-range eggs.

The home-made cakes and savouries are all freshly baked the previous day and there are also many different varieties of jams, marmalades and chutneys. If you are looking for a special present then the hand-crafted jewellery is beautifully made and individual as are the hand-made cards for all different occasions. Seasonal plants are another attraction whether it be for summer or winter bedding, pots or hanging baskets. There are second-hand books to suit all tastes from children’s to adults’ and a good bric-a-brac stall, many items of which are new and once a month there is a good-as-new toy stall where you can pick up a bargain.

But, if none of these take your fancy, why not just come along and have a tea or coffee and a piece of cake or meet up with friends for a chat.

Tom Younger, Pembury’s Community Warden, High Weald Housing (now Town & Country) and on occasions Nick Brown, our local Police Community Support Officer (PCSO), also have their surgery here every Tuesday and if you need any advice or a chat about a problem they will try and sort it out for you.
