Pembury Youth Theatre Academy has now
been running over a year, and in that time, Dee Barrington-King and Maddy
Earley have seen it go from strength to strength.
We are now very lucky to have Linda Goodhart join our team as a singing coach, and hopefully in the future, Holly Ward to coach drama. Rose Sammons, our helper who we couldn’t put on a show without, is always there to help the younger members with their movements. The show last December was a mixture of song and dance, with routines such as a ‘Blast from the 70s’, Christmas candlelight songs, and even a comic script with characters from Catherine Tate and Little Britain. A percentage of the show’s proceeds went to a project close to the children’s hearts - the building of the older children’s play area. We were all very pleased to be able to hand over a cheque for £450 to June Crowhurst of the Parish Council. We are always looking for new members and anyone interested should call Dee on 01892 825144. The age range of the children is 5-14 and classes are held on a Monday night at Pembury Baptist Church. We are also thinking about holding classes for 3-5 years. So if your child enjoys singing and dancing, making friends, learning new skills and needs a confidence boost then give us a call - the first night is free. Dee Barrington-King
