Pembury Memorial Garden

Pembury Parish Council has recently created a memorial garden sited in the Burial Ground at St Peter’s Upper Church, Hastings Road, Pembury. This is not designed as a place for the interment or strewing of ashes, but a focus for relatives who wish to have a place in Pembury to quietly remember a loved one.

The ground was dug and approximately 40 rosebushes were planted last November which are now sprouting leaves and by the summer will look lovely.

The idea for this came from a Pembury resident who wanted somewhere in the village to go and remember a loved one. The Parish Office was approached and we are now pleased to say that this has been developed. The first plaque was placed in the ground on 25 February.

The criteria for purchasing a plaque are:

a) The deceased was a resident of the Parish of Pembury

b) The applicant is a resident of the Parish of Pembury.

Details and an application form can be obtained from the Parish Office on 01892 823193.
