The Parish Council's responsibilities include the upkeep and maintenance of
  • the Pembury Recreation Ground, Lower Green Road, Pembury
  • the Woodside Playing Fields, off The Mount, Pembury
  • the Woodside Road Allotments
  • three Burial Grounds
    • The Upper Church of St.Peter Church, Hastings Road, Pembury
    • Lower Green Burial Ground, Lower Green Road Pembury (a closed graveyard)
    • The Parish Church of St. Peters , Old Church Road Pembury
  • Village Green, High Street, Pembury
  • Coronation Gardens, Hastings Road, Pembury

 

The Parish Council`s functions include: -

  • Environmental – monitoring of environmental issues. Tree Warden
  • Planning - Consultative body only for local planning applications
  • Public Relations - Newsletter production, Village Exhibitions and Parish Guides
  • Highways - Street lighting in Belfield Road, Romford Road, Henwood Green Road, Woodside Road - Bus Shelters – Monitoring of Highway and Lighting matters

  • Registration - Burial records in Pembury (Details of Burial Fees are available from the Clerk to the Parish Council – Barbara Russell – Telephone No. (01892) 823193)
